Music Is Our Radar

musicradar1.jpgWell, actually that's a Blur song. But MusicRadar.com, a site based in the UK, has done guitarists a great service with their audio samples of our BH5H Little Giant 5-watt head. Click here and you'll get to their review, which includes 5 separate audio files with their test guitar in different settings (bridge pickup, neck pickup, etc.). The test guitar is a Japanese Strat with EMG single coil pickups--not the most universal test guitar, but you'll still be able to tell how great this little guy sounds.

Viva la Blackheart-French Review Says "Ooh-La-La"

BH5-112-Guitar-Part_web.jpgFrench tone authority, Guitar Part, recently reviewed the Blackheart Little Giant 5 Combo, aka BH5-112. Aside from just sounding sexy and cool because it's in French, it seems our brothers of tone across the water were quite taken, dare we say "in amore" with just about everything the amp has to offer. Under the plus column.."the clean sound and the overdrive are superb, the finishing is perfect...a very great success." What about the "negative" column you ask? "I've thought and thought, really, but...nothing." Thanks guys. Vous Avez Notre Coeur!

Lights, Camera, Blackheart: New User Video

wampler_bh.jpgHere at BHE, we're blessed with a lot of passionate guitar players that want to share their tone joy with the World. And what better way to do that than with a hand held camera and a boom mic? BHE Test Animal, tone guru and all around Midwestern guy Brian from Indyguitarist.com made this great video demo. We're so flattered, impressed and too lazy to make our own that we want to share it, too. Click here like you mean it, sit back and enjoy!

The Blackheart Autopsy Report

BH5H-Guts-Insides.jpgDevil in the Details, Angels in the Architecture …call it what you want but the sonic beauty of a Blackheart Engineering amplifier is only equaled by the meticulous craft that goes into its design and build. We’ve never once (and will not) build a musical instrument with cost as the guiding concern. That’s been done and you can get an amp on the cheap just about anywhere these days. Instead, every amplifier with the BHE “Heart and Flora” badge proudly affixed to it begins life as a hand built, no-compromise piece of gear. Pyotr Belov locks himself in the infamous two-car garage (now in Austin, TX) and makes great amps the way he always has: by hand, with the best materials and without stopping to think about what it’s costing.

From there, Pyotr translates his designs into a PCB layout for larger production runs and sets out to teach our manufacturing partners, one to one, how to build a great amp using robust parts and design philosophies. He doesn’t head home until it's done and done right. This is the process that sets Blackheart apart and the reason your amp is built like a tank, sounds like an angel and you can actually afford it.
